Request Demand Draft or Banker's Cheque

Introduction

The Demand Draft Request screen allows the user to request a demand draft or a banker's cheque to be issued to a existing beneficiary (existing retail or corporate account holder).

On submitting the request, the status of the demand draft request will be displayed as 'Entered'.

  • If  the demand draft request requires audit, details of the same will be available for audit.

  • The charge calculation is done using custom hook.

  • If limits need to be consumed for the demand draft request, then for the corporate user, user and corporate limits are consumed and for retail user, user limits are consumed.

  • A mail with all the input details is sent to RM.

  • The status of the demand draft request is updated as 'Pending'.

  • The charge details are updated using custom hook.

  • On success, the message, 'Your Request has been submitted successfully!  Your Reference ID is : $RQST_SRL_NUM$.' is displayed in the CyberReceipt page.

Where RM approval is required:

  • The submitted request is sent for RM approval.

  • The status is updated as 'Waiting for RM Approval'.

  • An alert is sent to RM.  

Where approval is required (Corporate):

  • The submitted request is sent for user approval.

If workflow rule is not set for demand draft request and approval flag is set to 'Y', then on click of 'Submit to Relationship Manager' button in the request screen, request will be sent for processing since no workflow approval has been defined.

Navigation

  • Select Request demand draft or Banker's Cheque in the More Actions drop-down and click OK in the View Operative Accounts screen.

  • The Request Demand Draft or Banker's Cheque screen is displayed.

What you can do

The table below provides a brief description of the data that should be entered on the screen and the functions you can perform:

Field

Description

Beneficiary Name

The first, middle and last name of the beneficiary.

Note:

This field is mandatory.

Account

Select the account number from where the draft is to be issued, from the drop-down list.

After selecting the  corresponding account click on View Associated Address button. The address details are displayed.

Note:

By default, the demand draft or bankers cheque is delivered to the associated address once this address is fetched.  If the user wants the demand draft to be delivered to a beneficiary address after fetching, the beneficiary address must be explicitly selected.

Delivery Address

The address at which the demand draft is to be delivered.  

Note:

This field is mandatory.

Payable At

Select the location where the demand draft is payable, from the drop-down list. This is the location at which the demand draft or bankers cheque can be encashed.

Amount

Select the currency from the drop-down list and specify the amount for the demand draft  request.  

Note:

The exchange rate is calculated based on the currency format or amount entered.

Instrument Type

Select either the bankers cheque or demand draft radio button options, to submit a request for the same.

View Exchange Rate

The required exchange rate for the demand draft request. On clicking this link the present exchange rate is displayed.

Note:

The exchange rate is calculated based on the given currency type and the result is displayed in the same screen.

Account Debit Date

The date on which the draft is to be issued or the date on which the account will be debited.  

Transaction Remarks

The remarks of the demand draft request, if any.

 

Debit Service Charge Account

The  account from which charges for the request are be debited can be selected from the drop-down menu.

Submit Online

Send the online request for issuing a demand draft or bankers cheque in Finacle Core.

Note:

Clicking on this button will take the users to a screen where the above entered details are shown for confirmation and also the user is prompted to enter the authorization details. Authorization details will be prompted only if the service request is authorization enabled.

Submit to Relationship Manager

Submit the demand draft or bankers cheque request to the relationship manager for processing.

Note:

Clicking on Submit to Relationship Manager takes the users to a screen where the above entered details are shown for confirmation and also the user is prompted to enter the authorization details. The authorization details are prompted only if the service request is authorization enabled.
